CrossFit is a strength and conditioning programme that can be done by anyone regardless of age and current fitness level. CrossFit is defined as constantly varied, functional movements performed at a high intensity.
CrossFit combines weightlifting, gymnastics, and metabolic conditioning. The great thing about CrossFit is that each class is different, so you will never get bored. In each class you attend you will be warmed up, shown the exercises in the workout and appropriate scaling, you will be timed, encouraged, motivated and then cooled down at the end. Essentially a full personal training session in a group environment.
Here at CrossFit Galway our training is designed to ensure you succeed at all levels, and do so under the careful eye of our experienced coaches. Proper form, correct technique and your overall safety is paramount to all other considerations, and at CrossFit Galway our goal is to keep you injury free, and fit for life.
How to Get Started
#1 Free Intro Class
This class is tailored to individuals who would like to try CrossFit for the very first time. Our goal is to give you a taste of what CrossFit is and why so many people around the world are hooked on this method of training. Each class is restricted to 10 people per group and lasts for 1 hour.
During this class we give you an overview of how CrossFit Galway operates and what to expect from a typical CrossFit class.
Our intro classes are free and have absolutely no obligation. We want you to leave satisfied that you have been given the best possible introduction into CrossFit and to have all your questions answered so you 100% know if CrossFit is for you.
This class takes usually takes place on the second last Friday of every month at 7pm.

#2 Fundamentals Course
The fundamentals course is mandatory for anyone new to CrossFit Galway to ensure safety and proper technique as well as to build a solid platform to before beginning CrossFit. The fundamentals course is a private session that consists of 2 x 1 hour classes which can be booked at days and times to suit you.
Within these classes, we educate you on everything from a basic air squat to some of the more complex movements associated with our training sessions such as; back squat, front squat, overhead squat, press, push press, push/split jerk, deadlift, clean, snatch. There will also be a discussion about how class works, how the booking system operates and how you can monitor and track your results on our system.
Fundamentals Course Pricing
- 2 x 1 hour private session costs €75 made payable on the first night.
Following the completion of the 2 class Fundamentals Course, our certified coaches will ensure that you are ready to safely transition into our CrossFit group classes and can discuss our membership options with you. Both classes must be completed before you may attend our regularly scheduled CrossFit group classes.
