What year did you get into fitness?

Started with gymnastics in the mid 90s, and Pilates in 1999

Why did you get into fitness?

I always loved the industry as I was involved in gymnastics and played tennis from a very young age

Why did you become a trainer?

I loved training and keeping fit myself and thought I could offer my expertise to help others achieve their goals.

What’s your favorite movement?

Teaser, splits, deadlift, handstands

What is your favorite cheat food?

Pizza & Pasta.

What do you like to do when you’re not at the gym (or at work)?

Spend time with my little girl.. and doing what I love – training.

Aisling joined the team at French Vanoli in January 2015. Having attended Strength & Core in French Vanoli since 2013, Aisling was no stranger to the premises. Previous to this, Aisling worked predominantly in Marketing and Recruitment. She spent time 4 years in Australia and New Zealand before returning home and settling back into life in Ireland.

Her role here at French Vanoli is diverse and involves overseeing operations on a day-to-day basis including all aspects of business development, marketing (social, media, print) program development, event management, website management, administration, accounts, memberships and staff management.

Aisling is a keen traveller and when she is not in the gym, you could find her out for a run, on a bike, on the side of some mountain or in cosy pub with a glass of red!

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

Having played lots of sports when I was younger I was always interested in the teaching and coaching side of all types fitness so I decided to go with it and do something I love!

Why did you become a trainer?

I found out about CrossFit in 2008 along with a friend of mine; we tried some of the workouts and were hooked in no time. The combination of community, hard work and fun within CrossFit had made my mind up that this was the type of career for me.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

Clean & jerk

What is your favorite cheat food?

Wensleydale cheese!

What do you like to do when you’re not at the gym (or at work)?

I like to read, watch documentaries and every so often play video games!

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I started kickboxing at the age of 17 and was hooked on fitness and competitions from there.

Why did you become a trainer?

Having trained competitively for 13 years, I decided this was the line of work I felt I would most enjoy – training others.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

I love Olympic Weightlifting, especially coaching these movements. My favourite movement is the Clean.

What is your favorite cheat food?

I’m a chocolate addict so any type of chocolate treat!! Pizza & Ben & Jerrys too.

What do you like to do when you’re not at the gym (or at work)?

Going on roadtrips (especially somewhere scenic and beachy!), watching movies, catching up with friends

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I was never very sporty but always had an interest in staying fit, healthy and staying in good shape. I felt like getting gym membership was the best approach and after my first session I became addicted.

Why did you become a trainer?

I very quickly developed a love for exercise and the fitness industry. I felt like I could take this passion and share it with others. I wanted to show people the great aspects of fitness and expose some of the myths out there.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

Pull ups

What is your favorite cheat food?

Reeses peanut buttercups and milk

What do you like to do when you’re not at the gym (or at work)?

I like to do some fishing, I play some pool and I love going for coffee.

Andrew teaches Pilates Reformer  in French Vanoli.

Andrew has a Certificate in Counselling from NUIG, a Self-Esteem Mentor since 2000 and has a UEFA Youth Certificate. He is currently completing his UEFA B license.

To add to his credible profile, Andrew is also a volunteer with Amnesty International.

Why did you get into fitness?

My biggest motivation and reason why I got into fitness in 1998 was to improve my own health after long health-related battle with allergies and weight issues.

Why did you become a trainer?

I fell in love with everything about fitness. After improving my health and appearance I realize I could help other women too, empower them do the same.

Ciara is a passionate advocate for integrated Mind-Body Wellness and has been practising yoga for fifteen years. 

A primary teacher from Galway, Ciara currently works as an Health and Wellbeing Advisor for the Department of Education. Ciara has spent many years extensively studying yoga and has written a Masters Thesis and academic papers on the benefits of yoga practice.

When Ciara is not teaching yoga, she spends her spare time lovingly walking her beloved dog Rocky, travelling, listening to music, running, swimming and taking part in triathlons.

Ciara teaches Hot Yoga on a Monday night at 8pm

What year did you get into fitness?

Why did you get into fitness?

Initially started practicing yoga and pilates to improve my overall health and wellbeing. I was always keen to boost my fitness but in a more relaxed environment so i took a yoga class on a whim and found it really ticked the boxes. The breathwork and meditaion helped on a deeper level and i found that i started to have more positive outlooks and made me become more body and mind aware.

Why did you become a trainer?

After practicing for over 6 years on a very regular basis both at home and abroad i decided i wanted to share the benefits of yoga with others and encourage them on their own journey.

What’s your favorite movement?

Forward folds and twists.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Pizza and wine!

What do you like to do when you’re not at the gym (or at work)?

I enjoy getting outdoors with friends, biking or hiking.

Qualifications:

  • 500 hour YogaWorks certification
  • Qualified with the Yoga alliance at same level.

A committed camogie player and despite an intense training schedule, Aine joined CrossFit in April 2013. Having trained with Tom’s bootcamp class back in 2010, Aine was keen to expand her knowledge about CrossFit and learn more about the skills and techniques involved.

Aine soon decided to complete her CrossFit Level 1 certificate and is now also training to become a Reformer Pilates Instructor.

Aine holds a Higher Diploma in Arts and Primary Education (Hons) from Hibernia College and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from NUIG. Her achievements don’t stop there; Aine has also gone on to win County Camogie Medal’s U10, U12, U13,U14, U16, Junior B, Junior A and Intermediate with her club Clarinbridge.

Likes: Spending time with family & friends, all types of sport, sleep, music, chocolate and a good night out!

Dislikes: The first session back to CrossFit after a “break.”
